Gravity Colon Hydrotherapy

So on Friday morning I went in to see Fatima Lowe, the best hydrotherapist I have been to in LA due to her being a gravity method practitioner.  She is amazing, having cured herself of fibromyalgia through cleansing and then going on to become a hydrotherapist as a result.  She studied under Natalia Rose, the nutritionist who first inspired me to leave business school to leap head-first into nutrition.  Fatima is hilarious, very sweet and makes it very comfortable to be in the *ahem* ‘situation’ one is in when getting a colonic.

Gravity colonics are very gentle on the body, unlike pressurized colonics, which are more aggressive and uncomfortable.  I have tried both and let me tell you, the gravity colonic is worlds apart, feeling just slightly uncomfortable at just a few moments, but nothing painful or anxiety producing.  Since I began doing regular gravity colonics I have felt lighter, craved more greens, and have slimmed down in my waist, a nice thing following the birth of Wolfgang last September.  When I recieved a pressurized colonic before I researched the difference, though I am very calm and tend to trust healers that I work with, I did have some panicky moments when I felt like something very bad was about to happen. Gravity colonics, like pressurized, don’t smell, don’t embarrass you in any sense (unless you are very body conscious, but let’s face it, this is what these ladies and gentlement do all day with many people), and afterwards one feels like they will just float away.  Water flows into the colon with the pressure only of gravity, no force whatsoever, and flows out in fairly equal quantities, so you never feel ‘full’ as you do with a pressurized colonic that will have you feeling like you are about to burst, which is a less-than-optimal feeling, I’m sure you could imagine.

Sometimes the cleansing will make you crave the worst foods, so don’t feel bad if you immediately want a cheeseburger.  Fatima’s facilities in LA are right by The Pressed Juicery which makes their juices fresh with a hydraulic press, don’t pasteurize them, and have them ready to go in a bottle.  After my session I had some chlorophyll courtesy of Fatima, went to The Pressed Juicery and had their Greens 3 Juice, apparently the most in-demand.  I have to say, it was unlike any juice I’ve had before, and I have had MANY, as any of you on my social media sites can attest to =). I loved it, and wish I lived closer to them.  I guess I’ll just have to deal with making my own ;) .
